Children & Teens
Child psychology is the study of the mind and behavior from infancy through adolescence. It includes mental, emotional, and social development. Child development is complex with many stages and facets. It changes constantly and can be difficult for children and teens (and parents) to navigate alone.
Some of the most common child and teen concerns are:
- Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
- Behavioral Difficulties
- Eating Disorders
We also work with children and teens to feel better about and handle a variety of concerns:
At Union Square Practice, our approach to child and teen mental health is to work collaboratively with patients and their parents. After an evaluation, we provide treatment plan recommendations which often include psychotherapy, medication, or a combination. We respect that caregivers are the ultimate decision makers and work collaboratively to do what’s best for every family.
