Childrens / Teens
Child psychology is the study of the mind and behavior from infancy through adolescence. It includes mental, emotional and social development. Child development is complex with many stages and facets. It changes constantly and can be difficult for children/teens (and parents) to navigate alone.
Since childhood sets the stage for a healthy and happy life, Union Square Practice believes in the importance of working with child and adolescent specialists.
Some of the most common child/teen conditions treated are:
- Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
- Behavioral Difficulties
We also work with children and teens to feel better about and handle a variety of concerns:
- School pressures
- Social situations
- Changing family dynamics
- Life changes
At Union Square Practice, our approach to child/teen psychology and psychiatry is to work collaboratively with clients and their parents. After an evaluation, we give a treatment plan recommendation including psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both. We respect that parents are the ultimate decision makers and work collaboratively to do what’s best for each child/teen.
