Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Michelle Freedland, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology. Michelle received her M.S. in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from New York University and her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. Her work experience includes five years on an inpatient Behavioral Health unit at Columbia University Medical Center. In 2010 she received a Daisy Award for recognition of nursing excellence. She has been an invited guest panelist at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Annual Conference and the New York State Psychiatric Institute’s Nursing Grand Rounds on the topics of neuromodulation and post traumatic stress disorder. She also has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Michelle practices personalized medicine and believes in the need for individualized care. She combines both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic protocols in her client-centered practice with the goal of forging relationships that allow for change based on knowledge and support. Ingrained in her approach is the notion of holistic care and that kindness and empathy aid in the promotion of healing and recovery. She is committed to assisting clients with developing the tools they need to lead productive and meaningful lives.
