Gianna is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) specializing in individual therapy for adults and adolescents. Gianna uses a holistic approach that considers the interaction between her clients’ psychological and physical health, spirituality, race, culture, sexual/gender identity, day-to-day experiences, and relationships.
Gianna’s previous work in the education system informs her current approaches towards anxiety, depression, and stress not only with her clients, but also with their parents/guardians. She recognizes the importance of focusing on the whole picture and not just the sole individual and applies this lens in her current practice.
From working with young LGBTQ+ adults facing housing instability at the Ali Forney Center, Gianna is trained in guiding clients through relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma/intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, and LGBTQ+ identities.
Gianna offers a practical style that helps her clients gain insight with finding the skills to effectively manage their concerns. She aims to support her clients in increasing their confidence so they can navigate their relationships and life’s challenges. Gianna believes self-awareness and communication are critical to becoming your most authentic self.
Gianna is trained in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma informed care; she takes an ecological and psychoanalytical approach to working with patients.
